MTP has been preparing supporting documentation for each of the product areas covered in its consultation 'Saving Energy through Better Products and Appliances'.

This will help stakeholders understand more about how the models are developed and what assumptions are made in the scenario modelling. These supporting documents are called Government Standards Briefing Notes, (GSBNs) and come in sets of four for each area (Key Inputs, Reference Scenario, Policy Scenario, BAT scenario)

Defra have announced that the GSBNs for the following products covered in the consultation document are now available on the Market Transformation website.

• Domestic Lighting  (BNDL01 - 04)
• Commercial Lighting  (BNCL01 - 04)
• Street & Traffic Lighting  (BNST01 - 04)

In addition, there are also Key Outputs documents for the 3 Lighting areas, summarising the main stock, sales and energy consumption outputs from MTP models.
